This is a custom of a character you see alot of in any 70-80's Japanese Samurai flick. In the movie "Samurai Reincarnation (Makai Tensho)" , this is a character named Hozoin Inshun, who is supposedly based off of a real person. He is a master of the spear.

In other movies, this is just a basic Monk outfit, albeit a fighting Monk, as they usually have a spear, a staff, or any other weapon as the director sees fit.

This figure is a Hasbro Joe base, and headsculpt, with a little VELCRO added for a cool goatee. The mystical staff was a aluminum antenna at one point, and I left it alone as far as "telescoping", so if I wanted to achieve that Dakuan trick from "Ninja Scroll", I could do so.

The "Kasa", or the large lamp shade looking hat, was a bird feeder! It's very hard to find miniature pieces that can pass for these straw hats, so when I saw this, it seemed a perfect choice. I would like to find better, but this works for now.

I have had this background made up for awhile as a diorama. I love the way that the SNK video game "Samurai Showdown" looks visually as far as backgrounds go, so I tried to emulate that here.

I still need to add padding for the feet, and some arm wraps, but I wanted to get this out there.........

Yeah I could.....and it would probably be a big ol' mess and I'll have to stab somebody. Sewing is bad enough for a klutz like me......

Oh, and thanks!!!!

Lol, no prob....Or you could get someone who does know how to weave to make it for you.

Nicely done! I really had to look twice before I realized that it was an action figure. I like it when you put in the backgrounds...it really shows off the figures to their best advantage!

Thanks! I think I'll probably try and use more backgrounds......or all white for detail shots. I do like the environment better for a better "feel" to the picture.
